Coffeehouse drinks you can make with a Nespresso

These are our at-home versions of the drinks people line up for. They're inspired by the coffeehouse menu, not official recipes. You need a Nespresso, a milk frother and a couple of syrups.

Latte

Pod: Vertuo Double Espresso Chiaro, or two Original espresso pods

  1. Brew a double espresso into a big mug.
  2. Froth about 6 oz of milk until it's hot and silky.
  3. Pour the milk in and hold back the foam with a spoon, then spoon a little foam on top.

Caramel macchiato (copycat)

Pod: Vertuo Double Espresso Scuro, or Original Ristretto

  1. Put 1 tbsp vanilla syrup in the mug and add 6 oz frothed milk.
  2. Brew the espresso and pour it slowly over the top so it sits in a layer.
  3. Drizzle caramel sauce in a crosshatch.

Iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso (copycat)

Pod: Vertuo Double Espresso Chiaro, or two Original pods

  1. Brew the espresso straight into a shaker or jar with 1 tbsp brown sugar syrup and a pinch of cinnamon.
  2. Add a handful of ice, put the lid on and shake for 15 seconds.
  3. Pour into a glass and top with about 4 oz oat milk.

Pumpkin spice latte (copycat)

Pod: Vertuo Double Espresso Scuro, or Original Arpeggio

  1. Warm 6 oz milk with 2 tbsp pumpkin puree, 1 tbsp sugar and a big pinch of pumpkin pie spice. Whisk or froth it.
  2. Brew the espresso into a mug and pour the pumpkin milk over it.
  3. Top with whipped cream and a shake of cinnamon.

Vanilla sweet cream cold foam

Pod: Vertuo Cold Brew Style pod over ice, or any espresso over ice

  1. Froth 2 tbsp heavy cream, 1 tbsp 2% milk and 1 tsp vanilla syrup cold until it's thick.
  2. Brew your coffee over a glass of ice.
  3. Spoon the foam on top and drink it before it sinks.

Iced vanilla latte

Pod: Vertuo Double Espresso Chiaro, or Original Ristretto

  1. Fill a glass with ice and add 1 tbsp vanilla syrup.
  2. Pour in 6 oz cold milk.
  3. Brew the espresso and pour it over the top.
